Macao's “Sea Mail Services” date back to 1798, and were in effect until the “Provisory Instructions for Postal Services in Macao” were enforced in 1884. This ushered a new cycle of the Macao Post history, starting from which it has become a regular postal operator, complying with the International Conventions, and from March 1st of the same year, the first Macao stamp, named "Crown", entered into circulation.
