National Taichung University of Education was established in 1997. It is not only the first of its kind in the country but also the first "professional academic research institution for educational measurement, assessment, and statistics" in Asia. It has set a precedent for cultivating academic talents in measurement and statistics. A doctoral program was established in 2005. In 2014, in order to integrate the talent cultivation of the institute with the trends of the industry and guide social progress and national development, it was officially renamed the "Institute of Educational Information and Measurement Statistics". The three educational goals of the institute are "cultivating professional and research talents in measurement and statistics", "cultivating professional and research talents in educational information", and "cultivating students' ability to plan, execute, and present professional research". The long-term efforts of the institute aim to establish the university as a center for measurement and statistics in the central region. Through years of efforts, the university, whether in terms of teachers' professional knowledge and skills, research achievements, or the performance of graduates, is a pioneer in the field of measurement and statistics in our country. In addition to undertaking research projects, the teachers of the institute also hold a leading position in the academic and professional performance in the field of measurement and statistics in our country.
