NATIONAL TAIWAN UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCEAND TECHNOLOGY
The school takes "Developing an international applied research university with scientific and technological innovation and industrial applications" as its vision, and "Cultivating globally competitive technology and management talents with innovative practice and social care" as its educational goal. Different from T-shaped talents, the school proposes the cultivation of "π-shaped talents", emphasizing the cultivation of students' three major abilities: professional practical ability (left foot), liberal arts literacy ability (right foot), and international bridging ability (horizontal bar). In addition to having six colleges, namely the College of Engineering, College of Electrical and Computer Engineering, College of Management, College of Design, College of Humanities and Social Sciences, and College of Applied Science and Technology, as well as 24 professional departments and institutes (13 departments, 10 independent institutes, and 1 degree program), and the Center for Humanities and Social Sciences and Teacher Education, in accordance with the regulations of the National Key Areas of Industry-University Cooperation and Talent Cultivation Innovation Regulations, on February 16, 2022, the Ministry of Education approved the innovation plan with the letter No. 1112300422 of the Department of Technological and Vocational Education (III), and approved the establishment of the Industry-University Innovation College (the period is from January 1, 2022, to December 31, 2033, a total of 12 years), with 3 independent institutes under it. In August 2022, the original Humanities and Arts Center and the task-formed General Education Center were integrated into the "General Education Center", which belongs to the teaching unit. In addition, a number of cross-disciplinary credit programs, degree programs, and cross-disciplinary research centers have been set up to integrate the research capabilities of different departments and institutes, provide students with diversified courses, and nurture cross-disciplinary talents.
